🎯 How Does Mega-Sena Work?
The rules
- Choose 6 numbers from 1 to 60
- No bonus number needed — it's a pure 6-from-60 format
- Optional: pick more than 6 numbers for a wheel system (up to 20 numbers)
- Draws take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and on Sunday mornings (Brazilian time; the Saturday draw moved to Sunday on 19 July 2026)
🔑 No Bonus — but Clear Rules
Mega-Sena is one of the few major lotteries with no bonus number at all. All that matters is how many of the 6 drawn main numbers you matched — there's no Superzahl, no Jolly, no Chance number that has to match too.
The format is especially easy to understand: even 4 or 5 correct numbers (with no extra condition) already win a prize tier — known as "Quadra" (4 correct) and "Quina" (5 correct).
🆚 Mega-Sena vs. Other Lotteries
| Lottery | Format | Jackpot odds | Draws/week |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🇧🇷 Mega-Sena | 6/60, no bonus | 1 : 50M | 3 |
| 🇵🇱 Lotto Polska | 6/49, no bonus | 1 : 14M | 3 |
| 🇩🇪 Lotto 6aus49 | 6/49 + Superzahl | 1 : 140M | 2 |
| 🇮🇹 SuperEnalotto | 6/90 + Jolly | 1 : 623M | 4 |
Mega-Sena's jackpot odds sit between Lotto Polska and the big European jackpot lotteries — a fair trade-off between simplicity and prize size.
