Japan's national number lottery
Loto 6 launched in October 2000 and is, alongside Loto 7 and Mini Loto, one of Japan's three major number lotteries, operated by Mizuho Bank on behalf of Japan's prefectures. The base jackpot is 200 million yen and can accumulate through rollovers up to 600 million yen.
You choose 6 main numbers from 1 to 43. Additionally, a bonus number is drawn from the same pool (after the main numbers, so no overlap is possible). A ticket costs 200 yen. Draws take place every Monday and Thursday.
| Match | Prize |
|---|---|
| 6 matches | Jackpot (bis ¥600 Mio.) |
| 5 matches + Bonus | ~¥10.000.000 |
| 5 matches | ~¥300.000 |
| 4 matches | ~¥6.800 |
| 3 matches | ¥1.000 (fix) |
The bonus number only matters for 5 matches. With 4 or 3 matches, you win regardless of the bonus number. Only 5 prize classes in total — with 2 matches or fewer you win nothing.
